Tape Safety Guide
BEFORE APPLYING:
Do a patch test before full use.
Start with a small strip on your lower inner arm and leave it on for at minimum 24 hours to check for any reaction—this area makes it easy to monitor for irritation.
Then do a second test strip on the area where you plan to apply the tape to make sure the skin tolerates it well.
Only apply to clean, freshly washed skin.
Never apply to broken, damaged, or irritated skin.
Do not apply tape directly to nipples or areas that feel sensitive. Cover those areas with a bandage, nipple cover, or any reasonable protective barrier before taping.
Do not wrap tape fully around your torso—this can restrict breathing and cause harm.
If breathing feels disrupted at any point, remove the tape and discontinue use immediately.
Do not use in addition to non-medical or unsafe alternatives such as duct tape, packaging tape, or ACE bandages.
Do not tape 24/7. Some users may wear a single application for multiple days, while others may need to remove and reapply more frequently.
Removing tape too often can irritate skin, but leaving it on too long can also cause problems.
Always listen to your body and consult a medical professional if you’re unsure.
Find a routine that works for you, but make sure to give your body and skin regular time to rest, recover, and be cleaned between applications.
Be gentle with yourself. Do not pull skin or any other part of your body too tightly when applying tape—overstretching can cause damage.
Frequent or repeated use without rest days may increase the risk of irritation, sensitivity, long-term skin damage, or other adverse health effects.
Monitor your skin closely and take regular breaks.
If wearing tape during physical activity, be extra mindful of how your skin responds. Monitor for irritation, pulling, overstretching, or discomfort during movement.
Pain is your body’s way of protecting you. Always listen to it.
Stop use if you notice any signs of discomfort, damage, or restriction.
Do not wear tape while swimming in water you cannot stand up in or easily exit.
Learn how your body reacts to the tape first. Practice safe removal first. If discomfort or a problem arises, you need to be able to leave the water and remove the tape safely.
Always listen to your body. Take notice of any irritation, discomfort, or concerns and take appropriate action.
Do not use tape if you do not already have the time or tools for safe removal.
Always have body-safe oil ready before applying tape.
Make sure you are able to block off enough time to remove it gently and carefully when needed.
Do not wear tape if you will be in a location where you cannot access safe removal supplies in an emergency.
REMOVAL:
Use any body-safe oil to fully saturate the tape.
Give the oil as much time as needed to fully break down the adhesive before removal.
Never remove tape dry—this can damage skin.
The tape should peel away easily. If your skin lifts with the tape, stop immediately. Let the oil sit longer and reapply if needed. The skin should not lift—only the tape should peel.
Apply more oil under peeled-up edges as needed.
Be mindful that oil is slippery. Remove tape while sitting or laying on a stable surface to prevent falling.
Be mindful that oil can stain and be messy.
Gently peel once loosened.
Clean body after removal of tape of any adhesive or oil residue.
If any irritation occurs, stop use and allow your skin to fully heal. Even a minor reaction can become worse with continued use.
